More news from the British Fascist State

Is freedom of speech for everyone, or just those you agree with? England is increasingly terrified of its Muslim population, and will do anything to pacify them. Please keep in mind that these idiotic laws and actions, on the other side of the pond, are used as a test to see if the public reacts to them being rammed down their throats. Its just a matter of time before the US govt. take queues from these nut-jobs and starts implementing the same B.S. over here. Let's go BRITISH PUBLIC, you have a responsibility to the rest of the world to let your govt. know that we wont stand for this. Show some of the same backbone that you did in the good old days...or has your backbone been trampled to death just like your rights?

Some Tools/Apps I Use Religiously

1. Evernote(http://evernote.com/): I use this on my Blackberry, iPhone, and desktops in order to never forget anything.
2. Twitter apps: I use Tweetie on the iPhone, Twitterberry on my Blackberry, and just recently switched from Tweetdeck to Seesmic on my desktops. The reason I prefer my Blackberry for devices like twitter is because the iPhone still wont run these apps in the background, which defeats the purpose of these 'constantly streaming' apps. Unless the app is running, it isnt updating, and messages arent being pushed to you. The Blackberry is still WAY ahead of the iPhone in terms of always being connected, and until iPhone gets this funtionality, it will always be a very pretty/semi usefull device, and never the great device it could be.
3. Google Reader: No RSS feed reader comes close to what google is doing with their Reader. I subscribe to all the top tech blogs, and some top news outlets. It is my main tab that I use in my browser, and it is my main source for ALL the news i read. I no longer use printed media for anything but stuffing packages for mail delivery. I would say I get 80% of my news from my RSS feeds, and 20% from twitter.
4. iPhone Apps: Not to bash the iPhone, because I still think its a great device, I would like to get the cons out of the way 1st. First, no apps in the background. This is such a huge disadvantage to the Blackberry that I would go so far to say that it is the biggest flaw, and the #1 reason the iPhone is not the greatest device we've ever seen. There is still no substitute for how my BB runs 10 or so apps at once. Starting and stopping apps individually is not sufficient for us. Anyway, the apps I run are as follows: Google Mobile App, Facebook, Tweetie, Etrade Mobile, The Weather Channel(cause the baked in weather app sucks), Evernote, Run Keeper, NYC Transit, GMail, Reader, Google Earth, Google Talk, Twittelator, Twitter Trend, Network Ping, Yelp, Joost, Coupon Sherpa, Bloomberg, NoAgenda App, Around ME, Dictionary, Translator, Net Utility, 9=Toolbox....Games: Metal Gear Solid, Assasins Creed, Galaxy on Fire, Puzzlequest.
5. Blackberry Apps: Gmail, Google Talk, Twitterberry, Google Mobile, Facebook, Etrade, The Weather Network...All running at the same time.

***I would have to say that I cannot carry either my iPhone or BB exclusively. They both have Pro's and Cons. I cannot easilly sync podcasts with my BB, or watch video. The iPhone kicks the BB's ass when it comes to digital media. However, I cannot be without the BB because when i get an email on any of my email addys I get instant notification, and its constantly updating my twitter feeds. So, until either the iPhone fixes its shortcomings, or the BB gets better with digital media, I will be carrying both. I guess we are still waiting for Google to come along with Android and solve all of these issues. What bothers me the most is that these issues seem fixable... and I don't know why they have not been addressed already. Rant done...galaxor out.

This is for all you GREENIES...
